What your urine color may mean.
Light Yellow = hydrated
Continue drinking enough fluids to stay at this ideal color.
Bright Yellow = dehydrated
Drink water now.
Dark Yellow = dehydrated
You may be suffering from cramps and other heat-related problems.
Amber/Burnt Orange = very dehydrated
Your health may be at risk.
Tips to Stay Hydrated
- Drink 80 oz. of water a day or half your body weight in ounces (whichever is higher).
- Supplement water with sports drinks to replenish electrolytes.
- Eat balanced meals, including fruits and vegetables, which are naturally hydrating.
- Write down what you eat and supplements you take. Some vitamins supplements and food like beets can cause urine to change colors.
