When kept to 4 cups a day (or about 400 mg of caffeine), coffee has a variety of benefits due to certain anti-inflammatory properties. Benefits are primarily associated with black coffee or low fat and low sugar varieties.

The amount of caffeine in coffee varies widely.

8 oz Coffee = 95 mg caffeine
8 oz Espresso = 427 mg caffeine

Coffee lowers the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and stroke.

1-2 cups of coffee/day can improve cognition and memory and decrease depression.

Coffee drinkers have a lower risk of liver cancer and colorectal cancer.

A daily cup of Joe lowers the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Drinking coffee does not cause dehydration. Coffee counts towards your daily water intake but increases your urine output.
