Recruitment

The University Hospitals St. John Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program accepts PGY1 applications only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

Our program is listed as University Hospitals Community Consortium Program (UHCC/Westlake) Family Medicine Residency in ERAS.

We select candidates for PGY1 positions through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Our match code is 2189120C0.

We will not offer positions outside of the NRMP Match.

We are unable to accept applications requiring ECFMG, J-1 or H1-B visa sponsorship.

We use email as our primary method of contact with applicants. Please check your email frequently.

Application Requirements:

The following documents are required when applying to our program. The Review Committee will not review any applications missing this documentation:

  • ERAS Common Application Form
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Dean’s Letter (MSPE) - **applications will be reviewed prior to schools releasing the Dean’s Letter or MSPE
  • A minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Transcripts
  • USMLE and/or COMLEX transcripts

Interviews

Interviews for the Family Medicine Residency Program will begin in October 2023 for the upcoming 2024-2025 Academic Year. Candidates will be interviewed by the Program Director, faculty members and current residents. All interviews will be virtual for this recruitment season and will be offered through video conferencing.
