What is General Surgery?
In the field of general surgery, surgeons focus primarily on surgical treatment of the following areas of the body:

Acute Care Surgery
Acute care surgery is emergency general surgery for the most critically ill and injured patients. Working closely with our emergency medicine physicians, Level I Trauma Center team and critical care specialists, our acute care surgeons are available 24 hours a day to provide timely surgical care for patients.
