University Hospitals surgical centers offer surgical services that encompass a vast array of disciplines. Our highly trained surgeons specialize in areas such as transplant, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and surgical oncology. University Hospitals is also home to some of the foremost experts in pediatric surgery.

Our surgeons hold faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and are either board-certified or board-eligible in their respective surgical disciplines.

Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)

Exceptional postoperative care is provided in our 20-bed SICU located in the Mather Pavilion on the campus of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. The highly skilled medical and nursing staff assure that patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures benefit from the most advanced technologies and treatment options available in an environment of compassionate care.

The SICU is designed especially for patients recovering from open heart and thoracic surgery, solid organ transplant, gastrointestinal procedures and ENT surgeries.
