WONDOOR/Global Health Residency Programs
University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital Residency Program Introduces Global Health Scholars
UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital’s innovative global health program, WONDOOR, selects global health resident scholars each year to participate in a 30-month educational and clinical focused program for the improved health of women. This program runs concurrently with and in addition to the traditional OB/GYN residency requirements. These distinguished scholars participate in unique educational and clinical experiences, including:
- A clinical rotation at a continuity clinic that serves women from low-resource communities including immigrants, refugees or homeless women
- Travel to a low-resource country to conduct clinical work with a focus on women’s health issues
- Outline a current women’s healthcare challenge for a final research project
- Participate in self-directed local programs addressing disparities in women’s health
