Comprehensive and Collaborative Nephrology Fellowship Program
The Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Nephrology Fellowship Program at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University, using innovative clinical and basic science research, prepares fellows to become leaders in academic nephrology as well as outstanding clinical nephrologists.
The Nephrology Fellowship Program offers a two-year clinical track and a three-year research available through a National Institutes of Health (NIH T32) training grant.
Broad Range of Inpatient and Outpatient Experiences
To attain these goals, the Nephrology Fellowship Program is structured to provide a broad range of experiences in both inpatient and outpatient nephrology. Fellows will gain experience in the care of patients with a wide variety of nephrology conditions and therapeutic needs, including:
- Acute and chronic hemodialysis
- Continuous renal replacement therapies
- Dialysis catheter placement
- Electrolyte, acid-base and hypertensive disorder
- Acute and chronic kidney diseases
- Native and renal allograft renal biopsies
- Renal transplantation
