Curriculum
The Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Endocrinology Fellowship Program curriculum for trainees in the research track is flexible and dependent on the research plan and schedule and is trainee-dependent. This will be planned in detail before training begins.
Research Track Curriculum
The curriculum for the research track will ensure adequate and appropriate clinical exposure over the entire training period. Trainees in this track attend all endocrinology conferences and educational activities of the division and will have at least one half-day continuity clinic throughout the training period.
Clinical Track First Year
Major curriculum components during year one of clinical training include:
- Four outpatient clinics: two general endocrine clinics at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, one general endocrine clinic at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and one diabetes clinic at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center
- Inpatient consult service at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center
- Inpatient consult service at UH Cleveland Medical Center
- Research experience
Curriculum Components Second Year
Curriculum components during year two of clinical training include:
- Inpatient consult service at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center
- Inpatient consult service at UH Cleveland Medical Center
- Insulin pump clinic experience
- Outpatient pediatric endocrine clinic experience
- Outpatient reproductive endocrine clinic experience
- Research experience
- Three outpatient clinics: two general endocrine clinics at UH Cleveland Medical Center and one general endocrine clinic at the Lois Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center
- U/S/FNA clinic experience
