Education
We offer a comprehensive, multidisciplinary didactic curriculum to prepare you to be an excellent intensivist and to pass required board examinations. Lectures and journal club are weekly hour-long protected didactic sessions on Tuesday and Thursday respectively. In addition, you will have the opportunity to lecture to residents and medical students greatly adding to their education.
The beginning of the curriculum is a 10-day orientation focusing on essential aspects of critical care. The didactic curriculum progresses thereafter. Throughout the didactic curriculum are workshops focused on different aspects of critical care such as ventilator management, critical care ultrasound, mechanical devices such as ECMO, and surgical airways. Weekly journal clubs highlight landmark papers in critical care literature. We aim to instruct appropriate analysis of these papers to better assist in clinical decision making.
