Payton Reed, MBA
University of Rochester ‘24
Payton Reed completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in the Biological Sciences and Business Dual Major program with minors in Chemistry and Economics. Working at UPMC in their Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center ignited her interest in healthcare administration. She recently completed a Master of Business Administration at the University of Rochester with a minor in Health Sciences Management. Halfway through her MBA program, she completed an internship at Intermountain Health. She looks forward to learning from UH’s talented and knowledgeable caregivers, while making real contributions to the enterprise and improving patient care.
Outside of work, Payton loves hiking and being outdoors, listening to music and going to concerts, and trying new restaurants.
Payton’s fellowship interests include service line expansion, optimization and management as well as participating in strategic planning initiatives.
Makda Araya, MHAc
George Washington University ‘25
Makda Araya is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and has spent the last six years in Washington D.C. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from George Washington University, where she is currently pursuing a Master of Healthcare Administration with a focus on Healthcare Informatics and Data Analytics.
Makda is thrilled to be joining the fellowship at UH Cleveland Medical Center, where she looks forward to applying her academic expertise to real-world healthcare challenges. During her time in Cleveland, she is excited to explore the city's vibrant attractions, such as the West Side Market and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Outside of her studies and work, she enjoys cooking, swimming, and traveling. With a passion for healthcare and a commitment to continuous learning, Makda is eager to make a positive impact in the medical field.
Her fellowship interests include operations and pediatric service line management, compliance and risk management, as well as emergency preparedness and patient safety.
