- Audiology and Cochlear Implant Center

University Hospitals Ear, Nose & Throat Institute’s Audiology & Cochlear Implant Center is dedicated to treating the full spectrum of hearing disorders in both adults and children and is leading the way in using advanced technology to treat hearing loss. Our expert team of audiologists and other ENT specialists uses sophisticated diagnostic techniques to evaluate patients before developing individualized treatment plans. Treatments can include the use of advanced hearing aid technology as well as cochlear implants to restore hearing in those with profound hearing loss.

The Ear, Hearing & Balance Center, part of UH Ear, Nose & Throat Institute, provides expert care for disorders of the ear, skull base and temporal bone. Our experienced surgeons uses leading-edge technology and advanced minimally invasive techniques to treat patients with conditions such as acoustic neuromas, aneurysms, hearing loss, tumors and facial paralysis. The Ear, Hearing & Balance Center team includes fellowship-trained neurotologists who collaborate with other specialists to deliver the highest quality care for some of the most complex ENT conditions.
- Facial Paralysis Treatment Center

Facial paralysis or dysfunction can occur when there is damage or trauma to the facial nerve, which controls the muscles involved in facial expression, taste sensations and tear production. Depending on the cause and location of the nerve damage, it can lead to an inability to move the muscles of the face making it difficult or impossible to speak, blink, swallow or smile.

The Head & Neck Cancer Center combines the expertise of both UH Ear, Nose & Throat Institute and University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Hospital, a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of head and neck tumors. Our multidisciplinary team offers aggressive, innovative treatments, minimally invasive surgical techniques and access to promising clinical trials, all delivered with a patient-centered approach for optimum results. Head and neck cancers we treat include cancers of the throat, thyroid and voice box, nasal tumors and skull base tumors.

The specialists at the Pediatric Ear, Nose & Throat Center, based at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, deliver comprehensive, compassionate care for infants and children suffering from illnesses of the ears, nose and throat. Our nationally recognized team treats a wide array of conditions, ranging from common colds and headaches to complex diseases of the head and neck. The Pediatric Ear, Nose & Throat Center also has an experienced cochlear implant team dedicated to reversing deafness in children with profound hearing loss.

The ENT Translational & Basic Science Research Center at UH Ear, Nose & Throat Institute is dedicated to advancing otolaryngology care through leading-edge clinical research. Our expert team of researchers continually strives to identify causes, perfect treatments and find cures for conditions that affect the ears, nose and throat. In collaboration with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, the ENT Translational and Basic Science Research Center conducts groundbreaking work in areas such as age-related hearing loss, balance disorders and head and neck cancer.
- Voice and Swallowing Center

UH Ear, Nose & Throat Institute’s Voice & Swallowing Center employs advanced diagnostic technology and innovative therapies to treat a wide range of voice, swallowing and breathing disorders. Our otolaryngology specialists thoroughly evaluate each patient and develop customized treatment plans, often consulting experts in other disciplines such as gastroenterology, neurology and surgery. The team also collaborates with pediatric specialists at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital to treat voice and swallowing disorders in infants and children.
