How to Apply

Application Process – Requirements

Thank you for your interest in our program! We accept and review applications through ERAS only. Applications are eligible for submission and review in September when ERAS opens. After initial review of applications, candidates who are selected for an interview will be contacted via email.

Due to the high interest in our program we are unable to respond to communications regarding questions about eligibility criteria or the status of your application. We ask that you review all of the information on our website and if you are interested in our program, please apply through ERAS.

FOR AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETE, IT MUST CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING:

  • ERAS Application Form
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement
  • Transcript
  • USMLE Scores or COMLEX Scores
  • Dean's Letter
  • Three Recommendation Letters

Interview

The Pediatric Residency interview season at Rainbow Babies and Children’s begins mid-October and concludes in December. Interviews are held via Zoom Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Friday afternoons from 12:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Eastern Time. The Pediatric Residents will host a virtual “Happy Hour” the evening before your scheduled interview to get to know Rainbow and answer any preliminary questions you may have. The interview day will consist of:

  • Welcome Session with the Coordinators
  • Welcome Session with the Program Directors
  • Meetings with the Pediatric Department Vice Chair for Education and/or Pediatric Department Chair
  • Two 30-minute interviews with a Pediatric Faculty Member
  • Session with Pediatric Residents

There will be two scheduled breaks throughout the day.

Policy on Hiring Non-Tobacco Users

University Hospitals is committed to the health and wellness of our employees, our patients and our community. As part of these efforts, effective January 1, 2012, we will only hire candidates that do not use tobacco products. All candidates will be required to confirm their non-tobacco use when expressing interest for a job opportunity. Selected candidates for hire will be tested for tobacco use as part of the pre-employment lab screening process already in place.
