Application Process
We accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application System ERAS and participate in the NRMP match for pediatric pulmonology. Candidates may apply when the ERAS electronic system opens to accept applications, which is typically July of the 3rd year of residency (or approximately one year prior to anticipated fellowship start date). Application materials include a CV, personal statement, and at least three letters of recommendation.
After initial ERAS application review by the fellowship-training faculty, selected candidates are invited for a personal interview between August and November. Selection is based on the training record, including quality of and performance during medical education, quality of and performance during pediatric residency training, and evidence of commitment to fellowship training. Additional consideration is made based on letters of recommendation, communication skills observed during interview and in application materials including written personal statement, and evidence of aptitude for scholarly activity. We have 1-3 new positions open most years.
