Fellows stipends and benefits are paid by University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, based on level of postgraduate medical training. The stipends, as of July 1, 2024:
PGY 4: $73,542

Benefits
University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital provide a wide range of benefits for trainees. Some examples of the many benefits available to pediatric fellows include:
- Educational Stipend: All fellows in the Department of Pediatrics receive an annual educational Every program offers an educational stipend. The educational stipendstipend, which may be used towards professional expenses including study materials, books, journal subscriptions, license fees, educational conference registrations, and professional membership dues. Ask your program coordinator for details.
- Paid Time-Off: at least20 days annually
- Medical/Dental/Vision Health Insurance: Coverage as provided in the University Hospitals specific Employee Benefit Plan (bi-weekly premiums).
- Support for Professional Travel: Fellows in the department may apply for small grants to help support travel to subspecialty conferences if presenting research and/or participating in regional or national-level initiatives.
- Reimbursement for American Academy of Pediatrics Membership Dues: All pediatric fellows receive reimbursement for their annual AAP membership dues, which include subscriptions to their subspecialty AAP PREP.
- Lab Coats: Two (2) lab coats provided with embroidery
- Laundry: Lab coats and hospital scrubs are sent out for laundering by the hospital.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS: Ongoing certification may be conveniently maintained through UH’s Resuscitation Quality Improvement program at no expense to the fellow.
- Professional Liability Insurance: Provided by the hospital at no cost to trainees. Coverage is limited to activities within the parameters of the training program.
- Parking: Free on-site parking
- Paid Parental Leave: University Hospitals provides fellows with up to 6 weeks of full pay for parental leave time during the course of their training.
- On-call Meal Allowance: Based to the program’s on-call schedule
- Resident Wellness: All residents and fellows have access to free, private, and confidential counseling & referral services through the National Employee Assistance Program. Please ask your program director or coordinator for more details.
