Pediatric Fellowships Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
All of our pediatric fellowships at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital are committed to fostering leaders in clinical care, education, research, advocacy, and equity within the pediatric subspecialties. Central to this mission is recruiting and training a diverse group of fellows with varied backgrounds, experiences, interests, and perspectives, as these physicians represent the future of the pediatric subspecialty workforce. We celebrate the diversity that exists on multiple dimensions within our current fellows and faculty, while striving to improve inclusion of individuals who may have experienced systemic barriers to advancement in medical training, including those from backgrounds that are underrepresented in medicine.
We believe that diversity of fellows and faculty improves our work environment, expands our educational perspectives, promotes innovation and excellence, and improves the clinical care that we provide. We believe that we will serve our community best when our physician workforce reflects the diversity of our patient populations. We are committed to providing a safe environment in which all are included and respected. We welcome feedback from applicants, students, residents, fellows, faculty, consultants, interprofessional colleagues, and the patients and families we care for. We are committed to striving continually to become better as we work to be anti-racist in clinical care, education, research, and community engagement.
