Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center Offers Comprehensive Pediatric Care
The Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital’s Angie Fowler Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Institute and UH Seidman Cancer Center specializes in the care of children with congenital thrombotic disorders, bleeding disorders such as von Willebrand disease and hemophilia, and other rare conditions that increase risk for bleeding or thrombosis.
The Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) has recognized the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center as a regional comprehensive treatment center. The center emphasizes prevention of long-term complications from intermittent bleeding episodes and clotting events.

As one of only a few federally funded centers of its kind in Ohio, the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital delivers a full range of comprehensive services, including:

Multidisciplinary Approach to Treatment of Coagulation Disorders
Working with pediatric specialists in orthopaedics, gynecology, dentistry and other areas, our team members utilize extensive knowledge and experience in the field of coagulation or clotting disorders to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. We emphasize preventive medical care and maintain preparedness for emergency situations. Our multidisciplinary team consists of:

Education and Outreach Clinics Provide Comprehensive Services
Many important educational services are provided at the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Our specialists are able to provide self-infusion training and home care management, including nursing services and 24-hour physician coverage. In addition, many specialty services are provided, including:

Help Find a Cure Through Supporting Hemophilia Research
When Dominic was born, he was diagnosed with hemophilia, a bleeding disorder. Now, 13-year-old Dominic and his family want to help others with this condition – by working to raise money for research to cure hemophilia and other blood disorders.
