PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at UH Cleveland Medical Center
Rotations
Required Rotations (1 month):
- Orientation
- Infectious Diseases Consult Service I, II, & III
- Antimicrobial Stewardship I & II
- Microbiology
- Critical Care (Medical Intensive Care Unit, Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, or Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit)
- Infectious Diseases in Special Populations (Pediatrics, Solid Organ Transplant, BMT, or Oncology)
Required Rotations (longitudinal, 12 months):
- Antimicrobial Stewardship and ID Leadership/Administration
- Pharmacy Research
- Clinical Pharmacy Services Staffing (every 3rd weekend)
- HIV Clinic
Elective Rotations (1 month, except where noted):
- Additional Special Population (Pediatrics, Solid Organ Transplant, BMT, or Oncology)
- Additional Critical Care (Medical Intensive Care Unit, Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, or Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit)
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Emergency Medicine
- Travel Medicine (longitudinal, 2 months)
- Other elective experiences may be developed based on resident interest and preceptor availability
Additional Required Activities:
- Residency research project with manuscript(s) suitable for publication
- Present research project at regional or national meeting
- Medication use evaluation or quality improvement project/initiative
- Presentation at Pharmacy Grand Rounds
- Presentation at ID Noon Conference
- Journal club presentations
- Topic/case-based presentations
- Teaching activities to pharmacy and medical staff
- Contribute to Antimicrobial Stewardship Newsletter
- Chief resident opportunity
