Education & Training
At University Hospitals and UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital we expect our residents to practice medicine based on the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines. Given our association with Case Western Reserve University and one of the top National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded institutions, we pride ourselves in our role as a major referral center at the cutting edge of research and clinical practice. We accomplish this level of high achievement by recruiting and training intelligent and hard-working medical staff while maintaining a friendly and collegial working environment in which students, residents and faculty can freely exchange ideas.

Mentorship
We believe strongly in building a community around each of our residents to help them thrive personally and professionally. Our residents are matched with a team to mentor, coach and support them. This team includes:
- Advising and regular meetings with the program director
- Mentor(s) in an area of interest for the resident, often a mentor for research or scholarly work. We actively facilitate matching of residents and mentors as career interests develop.
- Faculty advisor who also meets to support your personal and professional development.
- Faculty coach who is a supportive partner and safe space for developing your own goals and working to achieve them.
- Peer mentorship from a senior Med-Peds resident.
