Innovative Opportunities in Geriatric Medicine Education
Comprehensive interdisciplinary geriatric education is a top priority for University Hospitals – starting with the first-year medical, pharmacy, physician assistant, and podiatry students and extending through residency, fellowship, sub-specialty training and beyond. Our ultimate goal is improve the care of older adults by advancing the educational and clinical experiences of lifelong learners preparing for careers as practitioners.
In our Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Geriatric Medicine Fellowship (Internal Medicine) Program, we constantly identify and promote innovative and timely educational opportunities in a vast array of topics and interests. Our geriatrics fellowship educational components include:
- Clinical training curriculum in a variety of disciplines and care settings, including ambulatory, inpatient
- Extensive educational didactics and seminars
- Local, regional and national conferences
- Scholarly project with mentorship and guidance from faculty
