- Scheduling Appointments
-
To help provide timely service to our patients, we require that all appointments be scheduled and we may require patients who arrive greater than 15 minutes late to reschedule their appointment. Occasionally, despite our best efforts, we may run behind depending on the needs of the patient we are currently treating. If you have been waiting more than 20 minutes please inform our staff and if necessary you may reschedule or see another provider if one is available. We require 24 hours notice of cancellation and may request that you find a new physician if your family repeatedly misses appointments without giving the proper notice.
We are typically unable to accommodate walk-ins and ask that you call to schedule an appointment. Phones are answered daily by our staff beginning at 8:30 a.m.
- Forms & Policies
-
Please allow 3-5 business days for medical forms (for school, sports or camp) to be completed. Forms must be dropped off at the front desk during normal business hours or faxed anytime. Your portion of the form should be filled out completely, including your child’s name and date of birth. If the form requires a doctor’s signature, the child must have had a physical within the last year or it cannot be signed. Please remember to schedule your child’s physical yearly.

One of our physicians takes emergency calls after hours. Call our main office number 440-282-7408 and our answering service will page the physician on-call who will call you back. If you do not receive a return call within 15 minutes, please call our answering service to notify them. We ask that you save routine calls (mild illness, appointments, prescription refills) for the next business morning.
If an emergency should arise, please call 9-1-1. Emergencies are considered to be those conditions that are life or limb-threatening: loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, seizures, breathing difficulties, etc. In the case of minor emergencies please call our office first for instructions. Urgent Care centers may also be an option for urgent or after-hours care. We recommend UH Rainbow RapidCare on the campus of UH St. John Medical Center or University Hospitals Westlake Health Center Urgent Care Center.

We understand the importance of choosing the right pediatrician for your child. Prenatal Visits, a "meet and greet" with one of our physicians, are offered free of charge and scheduled at the end of the day. Call 440-282-7408 to schedule your visit today.
- Sick Visits
-
We make every effort to schedule appointments for ill children on the day that you call us. Occasionally, and depending on the time of year, this is not always possible and you may be offered an appointment the following business day. We will do our best to bring your child in sooner should a cancellation occur, provided that we have a valid phone number to contact you. If you have a medical emergency during business hours, we will do our best to see your child immediately or refer you to the appropriate facility. Also, if you would like us to see more than one child, please schedule both of them when you make your appointment. Without an appointment we may not be able to see a sick sibling right away and you may be asked to wait while the provider sees a scheduled patient who may be waiting.
- Well Child Visits/Sports Physical
-
To keep your children healthy it is important to bring them in for regular checkups. We recommend that you schedule your child's checkup before leaving the office or at least 4 weeks in advance so that you may choose the date that best fits your needs. Keep in mind that the summer months are the busiest for school and sports physicals and tend to book quickly!
- Prescriptions
-
UH MyChart allows us to e-prescribe any prescriptions at your appointment within seconds. This will allow us to keep better track of all medications you are currently or have been taking, even if prescribed by another office. For prescription refills please try to give as much advance notice as possible; feel free to leave a message for the nurse, we ask that for most refills your child's physical is up-to-date.
Medications that are more closely regulated by the FDA have different requirements for prescribers. We are required by law to see your child regularly to monitor medication use and usefulness.
- Accepted Forms of Payment
-
University Hospitals no longer accepts cash or check as in-person payment for services. You can pay by card (credit, debit, HSA, FSA, etc.), Apple Pay or Google Pay. You can also use UH MyChart to pay your bill online or before your appointment during eCheck-in. We accept checks for payment by mail.
- Pay Your Bill
-
You can now quickly and easily pay your provider bill online using our convenient online bill pay tool.
- Insurance Message
-
Our office participates with most major insurance companies and Ohio Medicaid plans. We ask that you bring your insurance card(s) to your child's appointment and familiarize yourself with your plan's benefits. Although our staff members are knowledgeable and have many combined years of insurance billing, it is ultimately your responsibility for knowing your plan benefits and/or limitations. We will gladly submit insurance claims on your behalf and require any applicable copays to be paid at the time of service. Your child may at times require a visit to a specialist of another facility. We will make recommendations, but it is up to you to make sure your insurance will be accepted at in-network benefit levels. For those patients that may have no insurance (self-pay) we offer a 20% prompt pay discount when paying in full for services at the time of the appointment.
