All of our physicians and nurse practitioners are board certified by their respective licensing boards in Pediatrics. One of our nurse practitioners is certified in Family Medicine, which of course includes the care of children.
To make an appointment at either of our convenient locations, call 440-526-8222 for our Broadview Hts. office, or 440-816-4950 for our Strongsville office.
Patients who walk in with a non-emergency condition will be fit into the existing schedule as best as possible, or they will be asked to return later in the day when the schedule allows.
For checkups, you can schedule with your usual doctor as long as you call far enough in advance. If you need a checkup quickly, you may be asked to see another doctor. For sick visits, we will try to get you in with your usual pediatrician, but will also offer appointments with our other physicians to get you in on the same day.
We follow a typical schedule for checkups, including visits at 2 weeks and at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months of age. We then see your child once a year.
These topics are typically discussed at every checkup and as needed at other visits as well.
Please allow 3-5 business days for medical forms (for school, sports or camp) to be completed. Forms must be dropped off at the front desk during normal business hours or faxed anytime. Your portion of the form should be filled out completely, including your child’s name and date of birth. If the form requires a doctor’s signature, the child must have had a physical within the last year or it cannot be signed. Please remember to schedule your child’s physical yearly.
Forms for School, Sports or Camp
- Forms must be completely filled in by the parent, including exact name of medications on the bottle and form, ie: pill, liquid, and dosage.
- If your child is seen by a specialist, please have the specialist sign the forms.
As a parent or legal guardian, you can manage your child’s online health information. Visit the MyChart for MyFamily section of our FAQs to learn more.
Our physicians and staff will attempt to give brief telephone advice whenever appropriate, however for most medically-related issues, we will recommend that you bring your child into the office to be seen by one of our medical providers.
You can ask your provider questions via the MyChart app. Message responses may take up to two business days. If this is an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
Login or register for MyChart.
Our practice is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to handle serious or urgent illnesses after office hours. Calling either of our office numbers will connect you to a Registered Nurse at UH Rainbow Call Center, who will triage your call to the appropriate physician on call. Please save routine questions (mild illness, appointments, prescription refills) for the morning.
If an emergency should arise, please call 911. Emergencies are considered to be those conditions that are life-threatening: loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, seizure, etc. In the case of minor emergencies (lacerations, cuts, mild fractures, sprains), please call our office first for instructions.
We welcome pre-natal interviews for prospective patient families to meet our medical providers and staff and tour our office facilities. Please call to make an appointment.
We make every effort to schedule appointments for ill children on the day that you call us. Please call our office ahead of time so that we can minimize the time that you will spend waiting. If you have a medical emergency during office hours, we will do our best to see your child immediately or refer you to the appropriate facility.
To keep your children healthy, it is important to bring them in for regular checkups. Our practice follows the recommended Well Child Check-up Schedule of the American Academy of Pediatrics. We recommend that you call our office at least two weeks in advance so you may choose the date and time that best fits your needs.
Our waiting rooms are partly separated into sick and well areas. We also schedule most well visits at a time of day separate from most sick visits to minimize exposure of well children to the sick ones.
UH MyChart allows us to e-prescribe any prescriptions at your appointment within seconds. This will allow us to keep better track of all medications you are currently or have been taking, even if prescribed by another office. For prescription refills please try to give as much advance notice as possible; feel free to leave a message for the nurse, we ask that for most refills your child's physical is up-to-date.
Medications that are more closely regulated by the FDA have different requirements for prescribers. We are required by law to see your child regularly to monitor medication use and usefulness.
