Acupuncture in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
November 04, 2020
While acupuncture may not be traditionally thought of as the go-to specialty for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, it is a scientifically-proven therapy that can be seamlessly integrated into a patient’s treatment plan. East Asian medicine has a deeply-rooted and thorough understanding of the human body and anatomy, and because of this, many acupuncturists specialize in treating orthopedic injuries and issues. In this talk, Megan Quesada, Licensed Acupuncturist with the UH Connor Integrative Health Network, will discuss how acupuncture can provide an evidence-based and medication-free addition to Sports Medicine and Orthopedic patient care, as well as address common misconceptions about acupuncture, and how it works in an integrative care setting.
