Bio
Stathis Antoniades, MPH, FABC, joined University Hospitals in May 2022 as President of UH Cleveland Medical Center. As the system’s flagship quaternary care, 1,000-bed academic medical center, UH Cleveland Medical Center is affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Northeast Ohio Medical University, Oxford University and the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, with over 2,500 graduate medical education and undergraduate medical education trainees each year. UH Cleveland Medical Center is also home to some of the most prestigious clinical and research programs in the nation, with more than 3,000 active clinical trials and research studies underway.
An accomplished healthcare executive with over 20 years of large health system and academic medical experience, Mr. Antoniades joined UH from Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Burlington, Massachusetts, where he served as Chief Operating Officer. Lahey, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is a major teaching hospital with a Level I trauma center and integrated physician group practice with more than 6,000 employees and a community network that spans two states in Northern New England. It is affiliated with UMass Chan Medical School, and many of its physicians also hold academic appointments at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine.
Mr. Antoniades joined Lahey in 2013 as Vice President, Medical Services, Research and Education. He became Chief Operating Officer in 2017 and managed the organization through a financial turnaround as well as the COVID-19 pandemic. With his leadership, Lahey earned the CMS Five-Star rating for 2020 and 2021 and ranked in U.S. News & World Report as the fourth best hospital in Massachusetts in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Mr. Antoniades is a fellow with The Advisory Board Company and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He received a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Yale University and completed his Bachelor of Art degree in Philosophy and Psychology at Boston University.
