We recognize the invaluable role played by our nurses and strive to develop and expand the role they play as part of the healthcare team, and to provide them with opportunities to grow their careers through continuing professional development opportunities (CNE). And, we also support and nurture the next generation of nurses through our collaborations with local nursing schools.

National Recognition

University Hospitals’ commitment to nursing excellence is ongoing. Two of our larger hospitals – UH Cleveland Medical Center and UH Portage Medical Center – hold Magnet designations from the American Nursing Credentialing Center – the highest distinction a healthcare organization can receive for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care.
