Become a Member of the Health Services Research Center
The Health Services Research Center (HSRC) invites faculty investigators to apply for HSRC membership. All investigators with a faculty appointment of instructor or higher and have an active interest in health services research are encouraged to apply.
Application Process
Center membership is determined through a competitive application process held twice a year in May and November.
Applications are reviewed by HSRC leadership, including the Director, Deputy Directors, and the Advisory Committee. New membership applications are evaluated based on the applicant's fit with the HSRC’s objectives, research interests, previous scholarship(s) and future potential as an independent extramural-funded investigator. The HSRC’s leadership may consider new membership applications outside the regular cycle if appropriate.
Membership status will be reviewed every three years to determine which investigators should remain members based on their contributions. It is expected that members acknowledge their membership in the HSRC, as well as their access to shared resources and other assistance, in publications and presentations.
Membership Benefits
HSRC members have access to health services research-specific facility core services, grant management support for pre- and post-awards, and targeted communications. Members are eligible to participate in the Foundations of Health Services Research Certificate Summer Program; pilot and bridge award programs; limited submission extramural funding applications and can request support for invited speakers and career advancement opportunities. Center members may participate in a variety of seminars, workshops and multidisciplinary retreats. Junior investigators will have access to personalized mentoring and a longitudinal curriculum for career award applications. Mid-career and senior investigators will have access to additional resources and support for program development and large-scale collaborative funding applications.
