UH Research and Education Institute (UH R&E) is the overarching entity within the UH health system responsible for supporting the full spectrum of research spanning fundamental discovery and commercialization of those discoveries, assessment of new diagnostics and therapeutics in clinical trials, and evaluation of outcomes at the community and population level. UH R&E is deeply committed to creating a dynamic environment that leverages excellence within our institution and coupling this with strategic partners to translate new discoveries to improve human health and well-being worldwide.

Basic and translational research is often the starting point critical for many advancements in healthcare. Such efforts are conducted within UH Departments, Institutes, Centers and the UH Clinical Research Center to advance medical breakthroughs to clinical impact.
