Advancing Innovations Closer to Home
University Hospitals Clinical Research Center launched the UH Mobile Research Unit to expand access to our clinical research studies and trials to underserved areas across the region.
As a major academic medical center, University Hospitals is dedicated to patient care, the education of the next generation of healthcare providers, and discovering the next generation of treatments and cures.
Developing and approving new therapies for cancer, heart disease, infectious disease and pandemics, and many other specialties require clinical research trials. A goal of our discovery mission is to expand the number of people who have an opportunity to participate in clinical research studies and clinical trials, particularly in rural areas and underrepresented racial and ethnic communities. To help reach this goal, the University Hospitals Clinical Research Center launched the UH Clinical Research Center Mobile Research Unit.
The new 38-foot UH Clinical Research Center Mobile Research Unit, the first-of-its-kind in Northeast Ohio, brings a fully equipped clinic and laboratory to the communities we serve, at public events, and to UH’s community hospitals and practices. The Mobile Research Unit will expand the presence of clinical research in the community, especially for those unable to travel. Still, it will also expand research services to physician-scientists in our communities who do not otherwise have the space or resources to engage in clinical research.
