The Department of Dermatology is committed to bringing the latest advances in science directly to our patients and is experienced in performing clinical trials of a variety of topical, oral or parenteral therapeutics. We have clinical trials for may types of diseases, including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, hidradentitis supportiva, alopecia areata, prurigo nodularis, hidradenitis, cutaneous lymphoma, blistering diseases, and pruritic conditions.

Clinical Trial Unit
The Dermatology Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) staff are experienced in topical, systemic and novel biologic therapeutics. They coordinate trials across multiple locations, including the NIH-funded General Clinical Research Center and the Ireland Cancer Center Infusion Unit. The CTU provides a resource for industry and government for skilled assessment of skin disease. The CTU is actively involved in study design, all phases of clinical testing, and the FDA approval process of investigational new drugs.
