Metastatic Cancer
Metastatic cancer refers to cancer that has spread (metastasized) from the place where it first developed in the body to another organ or part of the body. This happens when cancer cells separate from the original tumor and enter the bloodstream or lymph system.
Metastatic tumors are the same type of cancer as the primary tumors. For example, if colon cancer spreads to the liver, it is considered metastatic colon cancer, not liver cancer.
