Support and Learning Opportunities for Families Affected By Epilepsy
Because an epilepsy diagnosis can present many challenges for children and their families, the Pediatric Epilepsy Center at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital offers programs to help educate families on various aspects of epilepsy and to provide comfort and support. Our support groups allow families to connect with others who are affected by epilepsy, sharing their stories, struggles and advice with each other. We also encourage families to take advantage of various educational opportunities presented by our pediatric epilepsy experts.
Educational Seminars Explore Aspects of Pediatric Epilepsy
The Pediatric Epilepsy Center holds free educational seminars each month to explore various aspects of epilepsy, covering topics such as medications, therapies, social implications, behavioral issues and seizure safety. Parents, teachers, therapists, family and friends of children and teens with epilepsy are encouraged to attend. Each session includes question and answer opportunities with our experts.
Support, Hope and Advice for Families
Our pediatric epilepsy support group, Rainbow of Hope, gives patients and their families the opportunity to meet and share their experiences with other families affected by epilepsy and receive comfort, support and advice. Meetings are held each week at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital under the guidance of our pediatric epilepsy staff.
