Pediatric Orthopaedic Medical Education

Advancing Pediatric Orthopedics Through Medical Education Opportunities

University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital’s pediatric orthopedics is strongly committed to education. We offer fellowships in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and a sports medicine primary care that recruits family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine specialties. Our fellows will be trained by some of the country’s leading experts in pediatric orthopedics and will gain comprehensive subspecialty experience in areas such as spine, deformities, sports medicine and musculoskeletal tumors.

In addition, we offer medical students internships and a robust medical student research program.

Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship

Our fellowship offers a full complement of exposure to the breadth of pediatric orthopaedic surgery with faculty who bring a diverse range of experiences and philosophies to the program. Fellows develop their own area of interest and provides the critical thinking skills to understand the complexity of treatment indications for pediatric orthopedic surgery.

Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship

Our one-year long fellowship program includes an ACGME accredited Traditional Program (NRMP # 1552333F0) and an Osteopathic Program (NRMP# 1552333F1). The MSK ultrasound curriculum includes both formal didactics, cadaver lab workshops, and bedside teaching by AMSSM ultrasound faculty members. Fellows have exposure in covering high school events, along with extensive opportunities for caring for college athletes at NCAA schools.
