Urology Residency Program Conferences
Trainees in our Urology Residency Program are expected to attend the following conferences offered by University Hospitals Urology Institute.
Campbell’s Club
Residents are assigned readings for this weekly conference on core topics from several sources including Campbell-Walsh Textbook of Urology, AUA Updates, AUA Core Curriculum and AUA Guidelines. During their assigned week, residents will be responsible for teaching the material through questions to their fellow residents during an hour-long session that actively discusses and maximizes comprehension of the material.
Grand Rounds
Grand rounds are performed monthly by an attending, resident or visiting professor. We also use this time for resident AUA update presentations and in-service review.
IVP Conference
For our monthly case conference, our residents present interesting cases to other residents in an oral board-style format. Presentations should include films, endoscopy or intra-operative images.
Journal Club
Residents, faculty members and practicing urologists from the community meet monthly to discuss faculty-selected articles on a particular topic.
Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) Conference
Complications from each site are presented from the prior month during this monthly conference. Root cause analysis and quality assurance principles are emphasized.
UH Cleveland Medical Center Surgical Indications Conference
A weekly conference where we review cases, indications and plan for upcoming cases for the week.
