Post Graduate Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at University Hospitals Provides Comprehensive Training
In collaboration with Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center provides a rich academic and educational environment for students, residents, fellows and beyond. The Post Graduate Year 5 (PGY-5) Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship provides comprehensive training in psychosomatic medicine through supervised clinical experience on the inpatient consultation service and the medical psychiatry unit, in the emergency department and in a variety of outpatient medical/surgical liaison clinics.
Fellows participate in core outpatient clinics in the following facilities:
- University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center
- University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital
- University Hospitals Rainbow Center for Women & Children
- University Hospitals Transplant Institute
Our University Hospitals Neurological Institute offers the opportunity to participate with a team of neurosurgeons, psychiatrists and neurologists in nine specialty centers, including:
- Brain tumor
- Epilepsy
- Memory
- Movement disorders
- Neuromuscular disorders
- Stroke
Research or an academic project with a faculty mentor is an expected component of fellowship training and a variety of potential projects are available through our subspecialty liaisons. A structured didactic program specifically for psychosomatic fellows and weekly consultation-liaison journal club and case conferences round out the educational experience and prepare trainees for the psychosomatic medicine board exam.
