Advanced Fellowship in Spine Surgery
Thank you for your interest in the Orthopaedic Spine Fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Our faculty consist of four fellowship-trained orthpaedic spine surgeons. We match one fellow per year. The goal of our fellowship is to provide a well-rounded academic experience in spine surgery. Our fellow will develop in-depth knowledge and clinical experience of the diagnosis, operative as well as non-operative treatment, and rehabilitation of adult cervical, thoracic and lumbar disorders. The fellow will gain experience and will be comfortable in approaching the spine from skull to sacrum and will do well over 300 cases per year.
UH Cleveland Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center and a major tertiary referral center with a large cancer hospital, the largest in the region. As such, the fellow will have a wide exposure to the surgical treatment and management of degenerative conditions of the spine, spinal traumas, neoplastic disease of the spine and infections of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Fellows will have the opportunity to experience both open and minimally invasive surgery of the spine. The fellowship involves rotations at UH Cleveland Medical Center and at our community hospitals.
