Biography
Suraj Thyagaraj is the Neurological Systems Engineer for the Epilepsy Center at University Hospitals, and Assistant Professor of Neurology in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Thyagaraj completed his doctoral studies in mechanical engineering at the University of Akron where his dissertation focused on experimental models for the brain disorder Chiari malformation. After obtaining his doctoral degree, Dr. Thyagaraj underwent training in advanced imaging techniques such as diffusion weighted imaging and tractography at Case Western Reserve University. At the Epilepsy Center, Dr. Thyagaraj utilizes novel neuroimaging techniques for the accurate localization of epileptogenic foci. His current research interests are in making use of signal processing and data analytics for improving the understanding of the pathophysiologic mechanisms underlying different forms of epilepsy. He has a particular interest in translational research and holds a master of business administration degree from Case Western Reserve University.
