How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the Neurological Surgery Residency Program at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Applicants for training must be students in or graduates of an accredited medical school.

To apply to the program, please visit the websites of the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) website.

The deadline for applications is October 21st.

Interview Dates

The following in-person interviews will be held on the following dates:

  • Saturday, November 2, 2024
  • Tuesday, November 19, 2024
  • Wednesday, December 11, 2024

Application Requirements

The Neurosurgery residency program at UH Cleveland Medical Center exclusively uses the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The following materials must be submitted to us through ERAS:

  • Application
  • Personal statement
  • Three to four letters of recommendation (see guidelines of Society of Neurological Surgeons)
  • MSPE and medical school transcripts
  • USMLE scores – passing the USMLE 1 and 2 on the first attempt
  • ECFMG certification
  • Visa information – University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center prefers a J1 visa
