Physical Therapy Residency Program in Sports

The University Hospitals Physical Therapy Residency Program in Sports is a fulltime, 18 month program comprised of 17 monthly modules with didactic and lab components. Each module will be taught by a clinical specialist and subject matter expert. Our program provides and allows opportunities to complete a variety of venue coverage opportunities ranging from contact to noncontact sports from local high school, club, collegiate, and professional teams/sports.

The resident will be given the opportunity to develop an autonomous clinical practice with built-in mentorship from clinical faculty while developing skills in professionalism, teaching, and research. The resident will develop a research project that will culminate in a presentation at a local, state, or national conference. Knowledge and skills will be assessed through midterm and final exams, both written and practical.

The program will not only help prepare the resident for the SCS exam, these experiences will help develop the professional skills needed to be both a clinical specialist and a quality educator.
