Ensuring guests have all the services they need during their visit is one way we strive to provide a less stressful hospital experience. With this goal in mind, we offer the following amenities:

Onsite Dining Options

Sam’s Café

Conveniently located right off the hospital’s main lobby, Sam’s Café entices visitors with an array of delicious options including hot entrees and sides, daily specials and prepackaged to-go items. Menu selections are posted daily on our hotline: 419-289-0491, ext. 3417.

Vending machines

Vending machines are located in the Emergency Department, Birthing and Women’s Unit and Sam’s Café.

Free Wi-Fi

UH Samaritan Medical Center offers free wireless high-speed internet for patients and visitors. To connect, please follow these steps:

• Turn on your WiFi-enabled device: smartphone, tablet or laptop.
• Connect to the wireless network UH_Guest.
• Launch the web browser and go to the website www.UHhospitals.org.
• Read the user agreement and click Accept.
• If you do not see a UH welcome page, you may need to configure the SSID or network name to UH_Guest.

Gift Shop

The gift shop at University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center is a fundraising entity for the hospital. Proceeds generated through sales in the gift shop benefit patients, families and the community. Funds are used to purchase new equipment for the hospital, as well as to support programs and projects.

The gift shop is located in the main lobby of the hospital and offers a wide range of merchandise including home décor, artificial floral arrangements and wreaths, seasonal décor, candles, lotions, purses, clothing and jewelry. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Ashland Mid-Week Farmers Market

UH Samaritan Medical Center is proud to be the 2025 host for the Ashland Midweek Farmers Market, enhancing our mission to improve the health of our local community. This weekly farmers market offers locally grown fresh seasonal produce and more, with free and easy parking.

Chaplain Services

Chaplain services are available to everyone 24 hours a day. Please ask your nurse to contact the chaplain. A non-denominational chapel is located on the second floor and is open at all times.

Lost and Found

Items found at the hospital are kept in the Security Office, located in the Emergency Department lobby on the east side of the building. Security can be reached at 419-289-0491, ext. 2427.
