Auxiliary of UH Portage Medical Center
The Auxiliary of UH Portage Medical Center is a separate non-profit entity dedicated to its mission of rendering service to the hospital and promoting the health and welfare of the community by raising funds for capital needs and additional patient services in accordance with hospital priorities.
For more than 75 years, The Auxiliary has raised more than $3 million for identified hospitals needs by raising funds through management of the Chestnut Tree Gift Shop, offering a Lifeline fall detection program, and sponsoring various fundraising events, including the annual holiday Celebration of Lights event.
Medical Guardian Service
Since 1988, the Auxiliary has offered fall detection services to Portage County residents as a means for the elderly and disabled to have a local alert system provider. Auxiliary members volunteer to install the units in homes and manage customer accounts. To inquire about this service, call the Auxiliary coordinators at 330-297-2552.
