About UH Portage Medical Center
UH Portage Medical Center is a 302 licensed-bed progressive hospital that includes two urgent care facilities, a network of physician practices and outpatient centers throughout the county. The second largest employer in Portage County, our medical staff consists of nearly 400 physicians in over 40 medical specialties. Established in 1984, the hospital has a long and storied history of caring for the community.
Recognized as one of the best places to work in Northeast Ohio by the Employers Resource Council, UH Portage Medical Center is also designated as a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Magnet recognizes quality patient care and nursing excellence and provides consumers with the ultimate benchmark to measure the quality of care they can expect to receive.
