Medication-Free Options for the Treatment of Pain
September 01, 2020
Integrative health is an evidence-based practice, focusing on the whole person and making use of all appropriate therapeutic and lifestyle approaches, healthcare professionals, and disciplines with a goal to achieve optimal health and healing. When it comes to the treatment of pain, integrative health offers non-invasive, scientifically-proven treatments that can provide relief without the use of opioids and other medications. In this talk, Dr. Christine Kaiser, Licensed Acupuncturist and Clinical Manager of Acupuncture and Quality at the UH Connor Integrative Health Network, will present such therapies as acupuncture, chiropractic, expressive therapy, massage therapy, and meditation and mindfulness. Dr. Kaiser will explain how these therapies are used, their benefits, as well as the evidence that supports their use as an alternative to medication for pain management.
