Knee arthroplasty, also called knee replacement, total knee replacement or partial knee replacement, is surgery designed to relieve pain and restore function in badly diseased knee joints, usually joints with osteoarthritis. The procedure involves the surgical removal of bone and cartilage from the kneecap and replacing it with an artificial joint, or prosthesis, constructed from metal alloys or high-grade plastics.
- Hip Arthroplasty
-
Hip arthroplasty, also called hip replacement, is a surgical procedure that replaces all or part of the hip joint with a man-made joint (prosthesis) in order to relieve pain and restore joint function. The procedure is most often used to treat hip joint failure caused by osteoarthritis.
