Study Purpose

This study is enrolling children with signs or symptoms consistent with those of a severe respiratory infection that could be from influenza virus, admitted to the PICU during influenza season to evaluate the effectiveness of the influenza vaccine in preventing severe and life-threatening influenza-related illness in children.
