Abdominal Imaging Research

The Abdominal Imaging section is actively involved in disease-focused and modality-based research projects. The faculty of the abdominal imaging section are members of the Case Center for Imaging Research and Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. The team works closely with scientists at Case Biomedical Engineering. Research interests include prostate cancer, benign and malignant kidney, liver disease, pancreatic cancer, rectal cancer, and response assessment to novel therapies. The faculty members are engaged in research projects involving cutting-edge technologies like MR fingerprinting, MR elastography, MR urethrography, dual-energy CT, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and radiomics.

We collaborate with industry partners to develop and be a validation site for machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. Our faculty members have mentored several medical students at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and successfully published research articles in leading journals. We have a tradition of fostering interdisciplinary and multi-institutional collaboration and look forward to furthering the UH mission of advancing medical research.
