Orthopaedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship
UH Sports Medicine offers a one-year ACGME accredited Orthopaedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship. After completion of the program, the fellow will be eligible to sit for the Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine.

About Our Program
The UH Orthopaedic Surgery Sports Medicine fellowship offers a comprehensive surgical and clinical experience with a subspecialty faculty, performing procedures that include:
- Knee arthroscopy, cartilage restoration, primary and revision ligament reconstruction
- Shoulder arthroscopy, reconstruction, and arthroplasty
- Hip arthroscopy
- Elbow arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction
- Ankle arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction
- Ultrasound guided injection and biologics
A formal educational and research program has been established with weekly academic conferences and broad research opportunities. The goal is to expose the fellow to a well-balanced experience with clinical and surgical competence, knowledge to serve as a team physician, and structure to participate in the publication of quality research. The fellow will be offered additional opportunities to participate in surgical skills labs, musculoskeletal MRI conferences, physical therapy and educational courses throughout the year.
