Kelly Armstrong LPCC, ATR, CMP

Kelly Armstrong is a licensed art therapist at University Hospitals Connor Whole Health, serving patients at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (CMC). She provides individual art therapy services to patients throughout CMC, and works closely with the Palliative Care and Med-Psych teams. Kelly has worked in the mental health field for 20 years, and is also a licensed clinical counselor. She received her graduate degree in art therapy and counseling from Ursuline College.

Kelly’s professional experience includes providing art therapy and counseling services with a trauma informed approach to at risk children, adults and families in community settings such as homeless shelters/transitional housing, schools, daycares and outreach facilities. She has provided services to individuals as well as groups addressing trauma and complex trauma, addiction recovery, dual diagnosis, brain development, attachment and child development.

She integrates art and the creative process with patients and families as a healing modality to address goals such as stress/anxiety reduction, increased locus of control and sense of well-being, healthy discharge of negative thoughts/feeling, and legacy work-all prevalent in the medical setting.
