Bekah Smith, LPMT, MT-BC
Bekah Smith, LPMT, MT-BC, is a board-certified and licensed professional music therapist with University Hospitals Connor Whole Health. Her special interests include research, sports psychology, wellness and music therapy for athletes. She has previous clinical training working with children with autism, older adults in assisted living and memory care and adolescents and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Currently, Bekah provides services for inpatients, outpatients and staff at University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.
After earning a Bachelor of Music Therapy from Cleveland State University, Bekah completed a six-month internship at UH Geauga and Parma medical centers. During this time, Bekah provided music therapy and wellness services for staff, inpatients in the behavioral health unit, inpatients at bedside and outpatients at Seidman Cancer Center. While still an intern, she also developed a sleep hygiene packet with sleep intervention guidelines.
Bekah is frequently a featured guest speaker at conferences, luncheons, podcasts, radio stations and other special events. She also specializes in developing innovative programming and is passionate about advocating and bringing awareness to whole health.
As a healthcare provider, Bekah merges her training as an athlete and music therapist to provide a humanistic approach to music therapy, always striving to facilitate an individualized and evidence-based experience for her patients.
