Anna Bekavac, LPMT, MT-BC
Anna Bekavac is a board-certified music therapist with University Hospitals Connor Whole Health, serving adult inpatients, outpatients and their families at UH Seidman Cancer Center since 2022. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Anna graduated with her bachelor’s degree in music therapy from Ohio University (Athens, Ohio), followed by a six-month internship at Birch Bay Retirement Village in Bar Harbor, Maine. She has treated adults in a variety of healthcare and senior living settings across several states, working to reduce symptoms of cancer/cancer treatment, sickle cell disease, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and stroke through music and connection.
Applying a humanistic approach to her music therapy practice, Anna engages patients in telling their stories and sharing their experiences using music as a guide. Her overall goal is to create a safe, supportive environment for patients and their families.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, writing snail mail, and chasing sunsets on the water as often as possible.
