Advancing Psychiatric Treatments through Research
University Hospitals Department of Psychiatry Research Division’s mission is to conduct clinical research that will not only improve symptom severity, but the quality of life for children and adults suffering from psychiatric illnesses. Our patient-centered research team is committed to providing compassionate care and education to our patients and their families, while at the same time advancing scientific knowledge.
Participating in a Research Study
While our studies are always changing, we are commonly recruiting for treatment programs enrolling children and adults whom suffer from
- Anxiety
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Bipolar disorder
- Depression
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Schizophrenia spectrum disorder
Participation is strictly voluntary and offered at no cost. A thorough intake process is conducted to determine eligibility, as not everyone may qualify for research. If the patient is eligible, participation may include a psychiatric evaluation, laboratory tests, study medication and close follow up from a psychiatrist. The length of research participation may vary depending on protocol timelines. If the patient is ineligible, they will be directed to clinical care.
