The birthing center at UH TriPoint Medical Center is designed specifically to provide advanced obstetrics care while enhancing safety, comfort and convenience for moms, newborns and their families. Our spacious, private patient rooms are built around the labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) model, meaning that moms remain in the same room through all phases of the birth process including recovery and the post-partum period.

The Lactation Center at our Birthing Unit

Many experts believe that breast milk gives your baby the best start in life and is the ideal nutrition for your baby’s first year. However, the decision to breastfeed is a very personal one. The best way to make this decision is to educate yourself about the benefits, the techniques and the support available to you should you choose to breastfeed your child.

Our Lactation Center is staffed by compassionate, experienced lactation consultants who provide guidance and education about breastfeeding for both new and expectant mothers. We offer a 24/7 breastfeeding hotline and can help facilitate access to breastfeeding supplies. For messages left after hours, a lactation consultant will return your call the next morning.
